Blog #2 (Big Ideas!)

My three big ideas are identity, purpose, and relationship(s). When searching on flickr.com I was fascinated by what people tagged as identity. Some of the pictures according to what I was thinking was totally off the map. It was very interesting seeing what all different people think of when thinking of these three words!

  1. There's so much going on here, unlike a lot of other flickr projects, this isn't an image I can look at and understand within a few seconds. This definitely requires some patience and thought to figure out. Much like a painting at a museum.
The choice to hide the words that describe the different groups makes all the images blend together very well, and creates more mystique.
There's many different themes as well, with name tags, couples, religion, war, homosexuality, marriage, etc. They all blur together yet work well together.

  2. I thought you did a good job with it since this is a brainstorming activity because you show many different images that all could mean identity. You didnt just try to take one route with it. And I most defnitely can see how all of the images that were posted could all lead to the big idea "identity". I agree with Bram when he says that all the images work well together. Now its just about narrowing it down a little to see what your midterm project will be really focusing on.
